California Licensed Medical Coder

Job Summary

Providing coding and pre-defined abstracting services, the full-time California Licensed Medical Coder will work remotely to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines while mentoring non-credentialed coding staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coding and abstracting services in accordance with Federal and State Regulations and hospital policies
• Participate in quality assurance efforts for coded data used in outcomes, peer review, and reimbursement
• Mentor and support non-credentialed coding staff to enhance their skills and knowledge

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Coder, preferably with Pediatric Coding experience
• Proficiency in ICD 10 / CPT assignments
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education and experience may be considered
• CCS or CPC credential required, along with CEUs to maintain certification
• Primary residence in California prior to start date
