California Licensed Operations Manager

Job Summary

Leading a regional team, the full-time California Licensed Operations Manager will oversee the operations and maintenance of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring safe and efficient performance while managing budgets and vendor relationships in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of project managers, technicians, and contractors through effective workforce planning and performance management
• Provide 24/7 operational leadership for BESS, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards
• Analyze operational data and implement maintenance programs to maximize asset performance and lifecycle value

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, energy, or industrial engineering, or equivalent technical education and experience
• 6-8+ years of operations and maintenance experience in power systems, with at least 2-5 years in a supervisory role
• Experience with utility-scale BESS and hybrid solar-plus-storage systems
• Proven ability to manage multi-site operations, including vendor oversight and budget management
• Technical expertise in battery systems and maintenance management systems such as CMMS
