Job Summary
To support a growing pediatric practice, the full-time California Licensed Pediatric Obesity Specialist will provide virtual care focused on family-based behavioral therapy and individualized medical management for children and teens aged 5-17, while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct 60-minute virtual intake appointments to screen for obesity/overweight and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide comprehensive clinical services, including medication management and diagnostic lab interpretation
- Lead "Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight" Shared Medical Appointment groups and collaborate with behavioral health colleagues
Required qualifications
- Licensed to practice medicine in California with active DEA registration
- Board certified in Pediatrics; board certification in Obesity Medicine preferred
- At least 5 years of patient care experience
- Deep interest or experience in Lifestyle Medicine, nutrition coaching, and physical activity
- Confidence in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine tools
