California Licensed Principal Architect
Job Summary
Providing architectural leadership for Workday's Observability Platform and Services, the full-time California Licensed Principal Architect will collaborate with engineers and product managers to evolve platform architecture, drive incident detection and recovery, and standardize observability tooling in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and best practices for the Observability Platform and Services
- Drive the development of incident detection and recovery processes across various data domains and infrastructure types
- Promote and evangelize observability standards and frameworks to engineering teams
Required qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 10+ years of software engineering/architecture experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products at scale
- Hands-on expertise in Observability platforms such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and Jaeger
- Experience writing high-quality code in languages like Java, Scala, Go, or Python
- Extensive experience with data collection agents and visualizing data sets from multiple domains
