California Licensed Security Manager

Job Summary

Leading the Continuous Monitoring team, the full-time California Licensed Security Manager will oversee the engineering function that measures the effectiveness of security controls across cloud infrastructure and enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with various frameworks while managing a team of engineers remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for continuous monitoring of security controls at cloud scale, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Build and develop a high-performing team of Security Software Engineers, providing career development and maintaining engineering quality standards
• Establish cross-functional partnerships with GRC, IT, Legal, and Engineering to ensure coherent control monitoring and effective remediation of identified gaps

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience leading Engineering or Security engineering teams
• Typically 12+ years of experience in security engineering, security posture monitoring, or compliance automation, or an advanced degree plus 8 years of relevant experience
• Solid understanding of security controls, cloud security knowledge across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP)
• Experience building security posture monitoring or compliance automation at scale, with a focus on accuracy and coverage
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with technical, GRC, and executive audiences
