California Licensed Senior Care Advocate
Job Summary
To support the County of San Diego's behavioral health initiatives, the remote California Licensed Senior Care Advocate will focus on authorizations for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients while assisting the Utilization Management team with data entry and inquiries during a full-time schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
Key responsibilities:
- Acquire and maintain access to electronic health records and determine appropriate levels of patient care based on documentation
- Obtain information from providers on authorization requests and manage mental health and substance use disorder cases throughout the treatment episode
- Assist in the coordination of benefits and transitions between various areas of care while supporting team members with workload and process improvements
Required qualifications:
- Licensed, Master's Degreed Clinician in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage/Family Counseling, or an RN with behavioral health experience
- Licenses must be independent, active, and unrestricted in the State of California
- 2+ years of experience in a mental health or behavioral health environment
- 1+ years of leadership or team lead experience
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and Office
