California Licensed Senior Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, a California Licensed Senior Coder will assign DRGs, APCs, ICD-10, and CPT codes to various patient account types while ensuring compliance with AHA and UHDDS guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign DRGs, APCs, ICD-10, and CPT codes to all patient account types accurately
• Code levels for Inpatient, Outpatient Clinical, Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery, and Observation cases
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure proper coding practices and compliance

Required qualifications:

• National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders or equivalent certification from AHIMA
• 1 year of experience in CPT and ICD-10-CM acute care hospital coding
• Knowledge of AHA and UHDDS coding guidelines
