Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the California Licensed Senior Coder will assign DRGs, APCs, ICD-10, and CPT codes to various patient account types while ensuring compliance with AHA and UHDDS guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign appropriate coding for Inpatient, Outpatient Clinical, Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery, and Observation cases
- Ensure coding accuracy and adherence to relevant guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support accurate documentation and coding practices
Required qualifications:
- National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders or equivalent certifications from the American Health Information Management Association
- Minimum of 1 year of CPT and ICD-10-CM acute care hospital coding experience
- Proficiency in coding for all patient account types, including inpatient and outpatient settings
