Job Summary
As a California Licensed Software Engineer, the full-time remote position will lead the design and implementation of AI retrieval systems, focusing on building developer tooling for production agents and ensuring answer quality through robust evaluation practices.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end initiatives for retrieval systems, ensuring agents access the right content with appropriate context
- Drive the technical design of developer tooling that supports the creation of production agents
- Diagnose and improve answer quality by addressing retrieval and generation issues, setting and measuring quality benchmarks
Required qualifications
- Proven experience in shipping production AI or backend systems, particularly with LLM-powered applications
- Expertise in building retrieval systems using RAG and hybrid search methodologies
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals with proficiency in languages such as Ruby on Rails, Python, JavaScript, or Go
- Experience in owning platform initiatives from design to adoption, including retrieval and indexing systems
- Demonstrated technical leadership with a track record of delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
