California Licensed Underwriter

Job Summary

To support underwriting initiatives, the full-time California Licensed Underwriter will evaluate standard and nonstandard data, assess risk of accounts, and collaborate with internal teams while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze data to understand premium, claims, exposure, and population risk, providing actionable insights
• Process account activities and contribute to rate negotiations with external parties while developing case strategies
• Engage with external customers to explain underwriting approaches and build relationships that enhance understanding of services

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum of three years of experience in Underwriting, Marketplace Evaluations, Financial Analysis, or a directly related field
• Comprehensive knowledge of the external business environment related to underwriting
• Experience in data analysis and using models to support financial and risk management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Familiarity with compliance policies and procedures relevant to underwriting work
