Job Summary
To drive strategic risk management and ensure compliance, the full-time California Licensed Underwriting Consultant will evaluate complex submissions, mentor underwriting teams, and develop underwriting guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate complex and high-value submissions to determine risk acceptance, pricing strategy, and coverage terms
- Provide expert consultation and mentoring to underwriters on risk analysis, policy structuring, and portfolio management
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, best practices, and quality control measures to maintain compliance and reduce exposure
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in property, casualty, or specialty lines with expertise in complex accounts
- Proven track record of advising underwriting teams and influencing strategic risk decisions
- Experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks and insurance rating methodologies
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is preferred
