Job Summary
To support payroll administration and compliance, the full-time California Payroll Specialist will manage payroll processes, oversee HR Assistants, and ensure accurate and timely payroll for California employees in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with California payroll laws
- Coordinate daily workflow and tasks of HR Assistants, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
- Handle final paychecks and employee separations, calculating final wages and ensuring timely processing
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll or HR/payroll experience
- Direct hands-on payroll processing experience required, with a strong preference for California payroll knowledge
- Experience with ADP or a comparable payroll system is essential
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel for managing payroll data
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
