California WC Claim Representative

Job Summary

Handling complex workers' compensation claims, the full-time California WC Claim Representative III will investigate claims, determine compensability, negotiate settlements, and mentor lower-level claim handlers while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Investigates claims and determines compensability through thorough analysis and documentation
• Negotiates settlements with attorneys or injured parties to bring cases to resolution
• Mentors junior claim handlers and coordinates special projects to enhance team performance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant combination of education and experience
• Five years of experience in a workers' compensation claims environment, including handling complex claims
• Two years of experience as an AF Group Claims Representative II or equivalent role
• Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations, particularly in California
• Continuous learning and progress toward certification in the field is preferred
