Job Summary
Processing bi-weekly Canadian payroll for approximately 500 associates, the full-time Payroll Specialist will ensure accuracy and timeliness while collaborating with the HR team and managing payroll-related tasks in a growing private equity-backed company.
Key responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll and verify time and attendance data, addressing discrepancies with managers
- Manage new hire setups, terminations, and first-pay payouts within the payroll system
- Generate payroll-related reports for finance and HR departments to support general ledger reconciliation
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now payroll system preferred; experience with other systems may be considered
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, including holidays and benefits equivalent to 401(k)
- Ability to accurately process payroll for approximately 500 employees
- Excellent internal customer service skills for effective communication with managers and HR teams
