Career Services Specialist

Job Summary

To support justice-impacted adults, the part-time Career Services Specialist will provide holistic employment and career services remotely, guiding clients through the employment process and connecting them with community resources.

Key responsibilities

• Guide clients through all stages of the employment process, including job searches and skill development for employment retention
• Utilize the UCSD PROS Employment curriculum and local resources to assist clients in achieving their employment goals
• Mentor clients in using technology and AI for job seeking and provide foundational service navigation to community resources

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in career counseling, career coaching, or a related field, or an equivalent Employment Specialist credential, plus two years of related experience
• Basic knowledge of career development theories and experience delivering career development programs
• Ability to work with diverse populations and knowledge of hiring practices affecting individuals with prior incarceration
• Experience in individualized career counseling, particularly for justice-impacted adults, using Motivational Interviewing techniques
• Proficiency in using technology for employment seeking, including databases and social media platforms
