Job Summary
To support analytical efforts in risk assessment, the full-time Catastrophe Risk Modeler will model catastrophe risk and portfolio exposure for property and casualty insurance, providing analytics for underwriting, pricing, and enterprise risk management in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Model catastrophe risk and portfolio exposure for direct property and casualty and reinsurance activities
- Provide analytics to support underwriting, pricing, and enterprise risk management initiatives
- Report findings to the Reinsurance Actuary and collaborate on risk assessment strategies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, meteorology, finance, economics, data science, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of experience in catastrophe modeling, exposure management, or related quantitative analytics
- Knowledge of catastrophe modeling and exposure management techniques
- Experience with insurance or reinsurance portfolio analytics preferred
- Relevant designations such as CPCU or ARe are a plus but not required
