CCS Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time CCS Certified Inpatient Coder will review medical documentation, assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and ensure coding accuracy while meeting productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review documentation to code diagnoses (ICD-10-CM) and procedures (ICD-10-PCS)
• Communicate with physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures through the query process
• Perform peer reviews of coding auditors and coders to maintain coding quality

Required Qualifications

• Active CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CIC credential
• Minimum of three years of facility-based inpatient coding experience
• Level 1 Trauma coding experience required
• Epic experience required
• Ability to interpret medical records and apply judgment in coding decisions
