CCS Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Reviewing medical record documentation for lower acuity inpatients, the full-time remote CCS Certified Inpatient Coder will assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes while ensuring compliance with quality and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Code procedures and diagnoses for inpatient accounts
• Assign present on admission indicators to diagnoses and query clinical providers as needed
• Abstract pertinent data and communicate with the CDI team

Required qualifications:

• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification required
• Less than 1 year of applicable coding experience
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
• Ability to analyze documentation and maintain quality standards
• Capacity to work 40 hours per week during core hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
