CCS Licensed Inpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote CCS Licensed Inpatient Medical Coder will review medical records, select appropriate diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate DRG assignments while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures related to patient encounters
• Utilize Aquity applications to enter coded charts in real-time and solicit clarification from physicians on ambiguous documentation
• Participate in team meetings, training, and coding roundtables to maintain current knowledge and contribute to professional development

Required qualifications

• CCS certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of current inpatient coding experience in a facility setting
• Experience coding for large acute care, Level 1 trauma centers preferred
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
• Proficiency in Google Suite and excellent written communication skills
