CDI Query Writer

Job Summary

To support clinical documentation integrity efforts, the remote CDI Query Writer will develop and distribute compliant provider queries, ensuring accurate representation of patient conditions while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clear and clinically supported provider queries based on clinical indicators and stakeholder recommendations
• Ensure compliance with relevant coding guidelines and maintain quality standards in query preparation
• Collaborate effectively with physician reviewers and other professionals to resolve documentation questions and enhance clarity

Required qualifications

• At least one of the following educational backgrounds: foreign medical graduate, associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing, bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, or another related degree approved by management
• At least one of the following credentials: MD, DO, RN, BSN, CDIP, CCS, or CCDS
• Minimum of three years of clinical work experience and two years of recent inpatient clinical documentation integrity experience
• Demonstrated experience with ICD-10 coding guidelines and developing or reviewing compliant provider queries
• Experience working with electronic medical record systems and managing multiple cases or work queues
