Centralized Referral Coordinator

Job Summary

Managing the referral-to-appointment process, the full-time remote Centralized Referral Coordinator will oversee incoming referrals, ensure completeness, contact patients to schedule appointments, and maintain accurate referral status across the Schweiger network.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the central referral queue daily, aiming to reach new referrals within one business day
• Review referrals for completeness, check insurance eligibility, and contact patients to schedule appointments
• Track and report key metrics related to referral volume, booking times, and conversion rates

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in medical scheduling, patient access, or referral coordination
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical terminology
• Experience with an EHR or practice management system; ModMed experience is a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
