Certified Coder - Emergency Medicine

Job Summary

To support the medical billing process, the full-time Certified Coder - Emergency Medicine will review medical records for appropriate coding, collaborate with physicians on documentation, and assist fellow coders in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to ICD-9 codes
• Meet with physicians to resolve coding issues and ensure proper documentation is signed

Required qualifications:

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A)
• No specific work experience required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
