Certified Coder II

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Certified Coder II will abstract data, assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes, and provide education on documentation and coding while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Abstracts data and assigns accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes in compliance with relevant policies
• Utilizes practice management systems to maintain accurate records for surgical cases and coordinates with clinical staff for documentation
• Educates clinical areas on proper documentation and coding to ensure accurate billing and maintains communication with providers regarding coding issues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
• At least three years of experience in provider coding and medical terminology with knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC coding
• Credentialed with either CCS-P or CPC
• Experience with coding software and remote coding preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
