Certified Coder II

Job Summary

To support a growing coding team, the full-time remote Certified Coder II will be responsible for coding diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-10 and CPT), ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, and participating in departmental meetings to improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and code diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines
• Participate in monthly coding meetings and maintain continuing education to meet coding accuracy standards
• Utilize hospital information systems and electronic medical records to complete coding tasks efficiently

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of an AHIMA or AACP-certified Coding program or equivalent with relevant coursework
• Two years of hospital coding experience
• Eligibility for RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certifications
• Act 34 clearance with renewal
