Certified Coder - Surgery

Job Summary

To support surgical billing processes, the full-time Certified Coder - Surgery will review medical record documentation, assign appropriate coding for diagnoses and procedures, and collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate documentation in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify comprehensive diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to ICD-9 codes
• Assist physicians with documentation requirements and follow up on unsigned service dates

Required qualifications

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A)
• No specific work experience required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
