Certified Coding Auditor

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Sr. Auditing Consultant will accurately examine and evaluate medical records for coding accuracy, focusing on hospital outpatient and physician coding while providing educational services to clients based on audit results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coding audits for ambulatory surgery, emergency room visits, and evaluation/management reporting
• Analyze audit results to identify patterns and communicate improvement opportunities for coders
• Maintain current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles and participate in staff meetings and trainings

Required qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS/P, or CPC certification
• 3+ years of experience in inpatient and/or outpatient coding, including ambulatory surgery and auditing
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding methodologies
• Proficient in MS Office and able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
