Certified Coding Consultant

Job Summary

Serving in a consulting capacity, the full-time Auditing & Education Consultant will evaluate client coders' assignments of ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters, perform audits, and develop educational content, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct complex reviews of medical record documentation to validate coded data and analyze findings for potential errors
• Prepare summary reports of audit findings for clients, ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines
• Deliver coding education and conduct audits while maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in coding and auditing within an acute care facility or clinic
• Certification in coding, with CCS preferred; CIC, RHIT, or RHIA will also be considered
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical record systems
• Ability to maintain professional credentials and stay updated on coding and compliance issues through continuing education
