Certified Coding Education Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance coding quality and education initiatives, the full-time Coding Education Specialist will design, develop, and deliver training materials and communication strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in developing strategic coding communication and education plans tailored to specific audiences and training needs
• Create and manage coding training materials, including presentations and handbooks, while leading training sessions on billing and coding information
• Provide mentoring to physicians and communicate coding principles to the Physician Group and Revenue Cycle staff

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H credential required
• Three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding and reimbursement activities
• Preferred clinical background and previous chart abstraction experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding conventions
