Certified Coding Education Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance coding quality and education initiatives, the full-time Coding Education Specialist will assist in the design, development, and delivery of educational materials and training sessions for medical billing and coding, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in developing strategic coding communication and education plans tailored to target audiences and training needs
• Create and manage educational deliverables, including presentations, training materials, and handbooks
• Lead training sessions on billing and coding information while providing mentoring and feedback to physicians and third-party vendors

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required
• Three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding and reimbursement activities
• Preferred clinical background and previous chart abstraction experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding conventions
