Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

To support coding and compliance initiatives, the full-time Certified Coding Educator will perform auditing of medical records, develop educational programs, and implement documentation improvement strategies while working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Audit medical records to ensure compliance with documentation standards and service levels
• Develop and implement educational programs for coding staff and newly onboarded providers
• Initiate overall documentation improvement strategies to enhance coding accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• Certified Professional Coding Certification or equivalent is required
• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, education, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive coding experience is required
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines, CMS rules, and OIG work plans is required
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required
