Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Certified Coding Educator will perform comprehensive audits of professional coding and clinical documentation in a fully remote environment, while also developing and delivering targeted education to coders and providers.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct prospective and retrospective audits of professional coding and medical records to validate the accuracy of coding assignments
• Evaluate clinical documentation for compliance with CMS and payer-specific requirements, ensuring services billed are medically necessary
• Develop and deliver educational sessions based on audit findings and coding updates to improve documentation practices

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One or more coding certifications such as CPC or CCS/CCS-P required
• Minimum of five years of professional coding experience, preferably in a multispecialty or academic setting
• Prior experience in coding audits and education strongly preferred
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
