Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Certified Coding Educator will conduct comprehensive audits of professional coding and clinical documentation in a fully remote environment, while developing and delivering targeted education to coders and providers.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform prospective and retrospective audits of professional coding and medical records to validate accuracy and completeness of coding assignments
• Evaluate clinical documentation to ensure services billed are compliant with CMS and payer-specific requirements
• Develop and conduct targeted education based on audit findings and identified trends to improve coding practices

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One or more of the following certifications: CPC, CCS, or CCS-P
• Minimum of five years of professional coding experience, preferably in a large academic or multispecialty setting
• Prior coding audit experience strongly preferred
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
