Certified Coding Quality Reviewer
Job Summary
Reporting to the Internal Quality Control Director, the full-time Remote IP Quality Reviewer will access and review medical record documentation for coding accuracy using ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT systems, entering findings into proprietary tracking software and responding to coder rebuttals as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records for coding and abstracting accuracy according to quality review policies
- Utilize electronic medical records and scanning technology to conduct reviews
- Enter review findings into quality tracking software and address coder rebuttals promptly
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of medical coding or review experience
- High School Diploma (relevant experience may substitute for formal education)
- Active coding credential (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC)
- Ability to maintain coding credential while employed
- Passage of the coding competency exam
