Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing cancer care program, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will manage coding for various specialties, including oncology and surgical procedures, ensuring accurate assignment of CPT and ICD codes while collaborating with providers on complex coding issues.

Key responsibilities:

• Assigns CPT and ICD codes for moderate to high complexity cases and verifies charge information
• Communicates with providers regarding coding issues and performs education on coding rationales
• Conducts research and analysis on coding and payer-specific issues to ensure compliance

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience required
• CPC or equivalent coding credential required, with maintenance of certification
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Ability to apply payer-specific rules regarding coding and modifiers
• High School Diploma or GED required
