Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the revenue cycle for physician coding and billing, the full-time Certified Coding Specialist will review and evaluate professional coding, provide education to healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines in a fully remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic reviews of professional fee billing and coding to ensure documentation supports billed services
• Educate providers on coding practices based on research and audit findings, and present coding education to new providers
• Analyze and resolve issues related to missing charges and coding-related denials, collaborating with various departments as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma is required
• Two years of practical coding experience
• Certification in coding such as CCS, CPC, or equivalent is preferred
• Formal education in ICD-10-CM coding and medical terminology is preferred
• Experience with Epic and physician billing is advantageous
