Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support clinical practice services, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will perform coding for neurosurgery, orthopedic, and ambulatory surgery, ensuring accurate charge processing, reconciliation of charges, and resolution of billing issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign or verify CPT and ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers based on documentation
• Monitor charge flow and liaise with managers and billing personnel to ensure accuracy
• Identify and resolve coding and reimbursement issues, collaborating with physicians and administrative staff

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 2 years of related coding experience
• Coding certification (CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P, or CCA) and/or Health Information Management credential (RHIT or RHIA)
• Preferred experience in neurosurgery, orthopedic, and ambulatory surgery coding
• Experience with insurance denial processes
