Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance clinical documentation and coding practices, the full-time remote Coding and Revenue Integrity Education Specialist will educate staff at all levels, develop training materials, and utilize technology to support coding and revenue protection initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Educate the organization on clinical documentation and medical coding that impact revenue
• Collaborate to develop and provide training and resource materials for Coding and CDI staff
• Utilize electronic medical record functionality to streamline coding and documentation processes

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in health information technology, health information management, or a related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Two years of progressively responsible coding or CDI experience required
• At least one relevant certification such as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
• Experience with coding and CDI quality improvement projects preferred
• Experience in training or organizational development activities preferred
