Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the revenue cycle for physician coding and billing, the full-time Certified Coding Specialist will review and evaluate professional coding and billing for anesthesia and surgical services, acting as a resource for coding inquiries in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic reviews of professional fee billing and coding to ensure documentation supports billed services
• Educate providers on coding practices based on research and audit findings
• Analyze and resolve issues related to missing charges and coding-related denials

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist for Physicians (CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Two years of practical coding experience
• Experience with surgical coding strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Epic and physician billing processes is a plus
