Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient coding practices, the full-time Certified Coding Specialist will review electronic and written documentation to accurately convert it into diagnostic and procedure codes while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and code medical records using ICD CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes accurately and timely
• Communicate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation translation and code selection
• Assist in quality audits, data collection, and monitoring/reporting for coding accuracy

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Completion of college-level courses in ICD, CPT4, and HCPCS, or relevant experience in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required
• 1 year of experience in a medical office
• Experience in ICD-10 and CPT coding
