Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support accurate coding practices, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will review electronic and written documentation to convert it into diagnostic and procedure codes while ensuring timely and precise coding for reimbursement purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and convert medical documentation into appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes
• Communicate with clinical staff to ensure accurate translation of medical records
• Assist in quality and productivity audits, data collection, and monitoring/reporting

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Completion of college-level courses in ICD, CPT4, and HCPCS or relevant experience in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required
• 1 year of experience in a medical office
• Experience in ICD-10 and CPT coding
