Certified Coding Specialist II

Job Summary

Providing training and mentorship, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist II will oversee coding functions, conduct reviews of medical records, and ensure accurate coding for clinical services in OB/GYN and fetal maternal medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Provides training, mentoring, and leadership to Coding Specialist I employees
• Performs daily reconciliation of clinical services and assigns appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD codes based on medical documentation
• Reviews charge review work queues for coding/billing errors and makes necessary coding adjustments prior to charge entry

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification required
• 3 to 5 years of relevant coding experience preferred
• Experience in CPT and ICD coding preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required
