Job Summary

Providing leadership and technical expertise, the full-time Certified Coding Specialist - Illinois will perform essential coding functions, mentor new staff, and conduct peer audits while working remotely in a day shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Acts as an expert coder within a specific coding service line and performs essential job functions of a certified coder
• Mentors and trains new coding staff while assisting with leadership activities in the absence of a coordinator or supervisor
• Conducts routine peer reviews and collaborates with management on departmental initiatives and budget preparations

Required qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P) or equivalent certification within 2 years
• Experience in coding with a focus on Radiology, CPT, and ICD-10
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data for departmental performance monitoring
• Experience in creating and maintaining department policies and procedures
• Leadership experience in training and mentoring coding staff
