Certified Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

Combining hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, the full-time remote Certified Coding Team Lead will manage coding quality oversight, mentor team members, and collaborate with clients to ensure compliance and accuracy in coding practices.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with clients and internal Revenue Cycle teams to address requests and provide support
• Review production coder work for quality and provide compliant feedback to enhance coding practices
• Assist in managing client escalations and denial management to drive client education and satisfaction

Required qualifications

• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, etc., no apprentice designation)
• 5 years of outpatient surgical coding experience
• 1 year of team lead experience or demonstrated leadership qualities
• Successful completion of formal education in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10/CPT coding, medical terminology, and anatomy/physiology
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care coding experience across all patient types
