Certified Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

Combining hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, the full-time remote Certified Coding Team Lead will mentor coders, oversee quality assurance, and engage with clients to enhance coding practices and ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with clients and internal Revenue Cycle teams to assist with inquiries and support coding best practices
• Review production coder work for quality and provide constructive feedback to enhance coding accuracy
• Assist in managing client relationships, including addressing escalations and conducting coding reviews to improve client satisfaction

Required qualifications

• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, etc., no apprentice designation)
• Successful completion of formal education in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10/CPT coding, medical terminology, and anatomy/physiology
• Five years of outpatient surgical coding experience
• One year of team lead experience or demonstrated leadership qualities
• Minimum of two years of acute care coding experience across all patient types, with strong inpatient coding experience
