Certified ED Coding Specialist
Job Summary
Providing expert coding services, the full-time Certified ED Coding Specialist will work remotely to apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes across various specialties, ensuring accurate code assignment and compliance with ethical standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately code surgical procedures typical of an ER setting to maximize revenue
- Interpret coding guidelines and apply diagnosis and procedure codes with high specificity
- Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and participate in ongoing training and education
Required qualifications:
- Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
- Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems
- Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
