Certified Facility Coder

Job Summary

To ensure accurate billing and compliance, the full-time Certified Facility Coder will perform timely coding of medical records, including inpatient and outpatient services, in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assign ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS, PCS, and DRG codes to medical records with a focus on accuracy and compliance
• Maintain a quarterly quality score of 95% or greater while adhering to ethical coding standards
• Interpret data from medical records and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding practices

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of a Coding Course
• One of the following core credentials: CPC, COC, CIC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC-A, CIC-A, or COC-A
• Preferred 1-2 years of related experience in coding
• Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD 10, PCS, and DRG classification systems
