Certified Family Medicine Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time Certified Family Medicine Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various specialties while working remotely and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate Outpatient ProFee E/M levels and interpret coding guidelines for precise code assignment
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and participate in ongoing training and education

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions and email management
• Experience with EMR and billing systems
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
