Job Summary

Seeking a skilled full-time Certified General Surgery Coder, the Professional Fee Coding Specialist will accurately review and assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes to surgical medical records while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and code General Surgery professional fee medical records, including operative reports
• Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes based on documentation and coding guidelines
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with current coding standards and payer policies

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional fee medical coding experience in General Surgery
• Current medical coding certification required (e.g., CPC, CCS-P)
• Demonstrated knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and surgical coding guidelines
• Experience interpreting operative reports and complex clinical documentation
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
