Certified Hospital Billing Coder

Job Summary

To support accurate medical record coding, the full-time Certified Hospital Billing Coder will work remotely to code inpatient and outpatient records, ensuring compliance with guidelines and mentoring junior coders.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code a variety of patient records, including inpatient, outpatient, and surgical procedures
• Review documentation for accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines while collaborating with clinical staff
• Address coding-related claim denials and mentor lower-level coders as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Equivalency Diploma
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a certified coder, including complex coding assignments
