Certified Hospitalist Coder

Job Summary

To ensure quality coding and departmental efficiency, the full-time remote Sr. Hospitalist Coder will manage staff, monitor performance standards, and provide guidance on coding and documentation in compliance with ICD-10 and regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff and procedures to ensure efficient operations and maintain effective personnel relations
• Provide daily guidance and support to coders, addressing questions and resolving coding issues
• Monitor performance metrics, conduct employee evaluations, and develop policies and procedures

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in a healthcare-related field preferred
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and CPT procedural coding
• CPC or CCS-P certification preferred
• Minimum of two years of medical coding experience, preferably in hospital medicine
